PLANO, TX - April 15, 2008 — WatchGuard Video announced Tuesday that total revenue for the company is up 103% compared to the previous year which was also more than 100% higher than the prior year. The back to back doubling in sales has catapulted WatchGuard Video into the number one market share position of law enforcement digital in-car video. WatchGuard’s primary product, the DV-1, is a police in-car video system that records directly onto rewritable DVD-Video discs that play on regular DVD players.
Record Earnings
In addition to the phenomenal increase in sales, net earnings have risen more than 250% over the previous year, making WatchGuard one of the most profitable companies in the industry. “The success we are enjoying at WatchGuard is largely a result of the product and the massive engineering effort invested into this technology,” explained Robert Vanman, President & C.E.O. of WatchGuard Video. “To date, we still do not have any legitimate direct competition to the DV-1 which is the only product that can create playable DVDs while you drive down the road. We solved the complex problem of authoring DVD-Video in real time under extreme conditions with perfect digital recordings that are skip-free, even during a wild pursuit across a cornfield. It simply never skips.”
Space Expansion
In order to accommodate the rapid growth, WatchGuard Video nearly tripled their facilities space in the 2nd half of 2007 from 18,000 to 52,000 square feet and is currently planning for an additional facilities expansion.
