WatchGuard Video, a Texas Limited Partnership
The Industry Pioneer
WatchGuard Video is the pioneer of world's first and only real-time DIRECT-TO-DVD-VIDEO police in-car camera system. The company was founded in 2002 by a previous owner of Applied Concepts, (Stalker Radar) along with a diverse group of financial and intellectual partners with the goal of bringing DVD-Video recording technology to mobile law enforcement for the first time. WatchGuard Video is privately held and incorporated in the State of Texas.
The Most Significant New Product
The WatchGuard DV-1 required nearly 60 man-years of high level engineering to fully develop. This highly sophisticated system performs true DVD-Video authoring in a mobile environment in real-time. In order to accomplish that task, WatchGuard Video developed a ground up, proprietary computing platform that leverages dual drive architecture and a system that utilizes optical drive ruggedization techniques developed for U.S. fighter jets. The scope of the DV-1 product development program has well exceeded the development effort of any other product in the police in-car video industry. No company in this industry has invested more engineering capital or been more aggressive in research and development than WatchGuard Video. With 7 patents pending, the WatchGuard DV-1 represents the most advanced technology available in the industry, and it should continue to lead the industry for many years to come.
Advanced Engineering
WatchGuard Video has the largest engineering team in the industry lead by the company's C.T.O., Andrew Cilia, Ph.D. The engineering team primarily consists of Master level engineers with expertise in advanced electrical and embedded software designs who are highly experienced in developing classified military electronic systems. The WatchGuard Engineering Team is many times larger than the engineering teams from any competing company. WatchGuard Video is committed to maintaining technical leadership within the industry.
Dedicated to Service
The management of WatchGuard Video places an emphasis on developing individual character qualities essential for true success and the company is dedicated to maintaining a culture of service. Our management staff is encouraged to practice servant-based leadership within their groups with the knowledge that by serving God, people are empowered to better serve each other. This environment creates the framework for WatchGuard Video to ultimately serve our customers in a manner that instills the highest level of trust, confidence and satisfaction.
The Industry Leader
The company began full production of the revolutionary WatchGuard DV-1 in September 2005, and the product has already become the number one selling digital in-car video system in the world. The amazing success of the DV-1 has made WatchGuard Video one of the largest companies in the industry.
Manufactured in the U.S.A.
WatchGuard Video manufactures the DV-1 in Plano, Texas and maintains two modern facilities totaling 52,000 square feet.
