Summary of Benefits
April 2008
Company Paid Health Insurance Plan (Full-Time Employees only)
- WatchGuard Video pays 100% of the Full-Time employee portion and 25% of the dependent health insurance coverage based on the $1,000 per year deductible plan. An employee may elect (at their own expense) the $500 per year deductible plan at an extra cost. Insurance takes effect on the 1st of the following month after the start date of employment. The insurance application must be turned into HR by the 25th of the month for it to take effect on the 1st.
Company Paid Personal Time Off (Full-Time/Part-Time Employees)
- Beginning January 1st each full-time employee will be given 15 days to use during the calendar year however they wish. Vacation and sick days are considered personal days and are included in the 15 days each employee is given. An employee may only accumulate a maximum of unused 20 days at any time. Joining the company mid year, the number of days is pro-rated.
- Part-Time employees will be eligible for personal time on the same basis as above after 4 weeks of employment. The hours of paid personal time is calculated on the average number of hours per workday worked over the previous two pay periods. (In 4 weeks worked 24 hours on 6 days – 20 work days in that 4 week period = 24 divided by 20 = 1.2 hours of pay for the personal day off). The personal time policy applies to all regular full-time and part-time employees. No overtime hours will be included in this calculation.
- Employees may take personal time in no less than ½ day increments.
Company Paid Holidays (Full-Time/Part-Time Employees)
- We celebrate 10 paid holidays each year. The employee manual will give the specific days.
Company Paid Life Insurance (Full-Time Employees only)
- The company pays for a $15,000 life insurance policy at no cost to the employee. Optional additional life insurance is available for the employee and family.
Company Profit Sharing (Full-Time/Part-Time Employees)
- All employees will share in a profit sharing plan. Profits are equally divided among all eligible employees and are not prorated by position or wage. Hourly employees will be prorated based on their actual hours worked. As the company is successful, all employees at all levels share in the success. Profit Sharing is paid as part of our payroll system subject to applicable taxes and usually calculated within 45 days of the end of a quarter.
Long Term Disability (Full-Time Employees only)
- Voluntary Long Term Disability is available at the employee’s expense. An employee would be eligible for up to 60% of the base pay.
401K Plan (Full-Time Employees only)
- Effective June 1st, 2007 WatchGuard Video established a 401K plan for our employees. It requires 90 days of Full-Time employment and enrollment could then take place at the end of that quarter. Presently we are offering a 1% match with 3 year full vesting.
125 Cafeteria Plan/Flex Med Plan (Full-Time Employees only)
- This plan is one authorized to allow certain deductions for medical related expenses and allowable child care expenses to be deducted from your pay check TAX FREE! (Federal Income Tax, Social Security, and Medicare). Medical and Dental Insurance premiums are one category that is allowed. Additionally, you can set aside an amount from each check to cover non-covered items such as deductibles for prescriptions, doctor visits, dental and or eye glasses and in some cases over the counter medications. The employee would submit receipts to the provider and would receive a reimbursement check for those expenses. All of these are then tax-free. WatchGuard Video pays the monthly fee associated with this program.
Dental and Vision Plans (Full-Time Employees only)
- WatchGuard Video has arranged for two dental plans (for those living in Texas and one plan for those out of state). Both plans are employee optional and are reasonably priced.
- PPO plan (only one available for out of state employees) allows you to go to any dentist of your choice and the insurance company based on “standard and customary charges” pays a percentage. The balance is employee paid.
- DHMO Dental plan the employee chooses a specific dentist from those listed in the DHMO dental plan. That dentist only charges the employee pre-set deductible amounts for services provided.
- Vision plan is available also at the employee’s expense. Detail options provided when employed.
Supplemental Program: (Full-Time Employees only)
- Through Colonial Supplemental Insurance, there is a voluntary package of available coverage. The coverage is an over and above plan that pays you directly, God forbid, you should have one of these situations. Colonial is similar in nature to Aflac and other companies.

Expense Reimbursement (all employees)
- WatchGuard Video reimburses company related expenses as part of the bi-weekly payroll process. All expenses received in the office with Monday’s mail or Sunday’s emails are reimbursed on that Friday’s paycheck. These expenses are not taxable and do not affect your W-2. WatchGuard Video does not issue company credit cards in most cases.
